What is a Time Calculator?

A Time Calculator helps you add, subtract, and calculate time durations. Whether you're tracking work hours, planning project timelines, calculating travel time, or managing your schedule, this tool makes time calculations quick and accurate.

Stop struggling with manual time math! Our calculator handles hours and minutes seamlessly, converting overflow minutes to hours automatically.

How Time Calculations Work

Time uses a base-60 system (60 minutes = 1 hour), which makes manual calculations tricky. Our calculator:

Formula

Total Minutes = (Hours₁ × 60 + Minutes₁) + (Hours₂ × 60 + Minutes₂)
Result Hours = Total Minutes ÷ 60
Result Minutes = Total Minutes % 60

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate time differences?

Convert both times to a 24-hour format, then subtract. If minutes go negative, borrow 1 hour (60 minutes) from the hours.

What's the difference between duration and time of day?

Duration is how long something takes (3 hours 30 minutes). Time of day is when something happens (3:30 PM). This calculator focuses on durations.

Can I calculate more than 2 times?

Yes! Use the result as Time 1 and add another time as Time 2. Repeat for as many times as needed.
